ABOUT
The Kapa 3day rogaining is a great choice for those who want to go into the forest in teams and choose their own strategy for visiting the checkpoints. On the first day, Minirogaining is offered in the outstanding seaside forest area near Užava. You can start the mini-rogaining at a time of your choice, without the stress of missing something on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday there will be two days of rogaining in format - 4h in two days (2h+2h) and 6h two in days (3h+3h), where the best rogainers will be determined in a two-day overall ranking.
TERRAIN
Forested dunes typical for coastal areas in Latvia. Primarily open pine forest with good visibility and runability, on Saturday and Sunday some areas have slower passability and there are some remains of army constructions (concrete ruins, wires and other elements) be careful.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Map scale for all days 1:10000, map size A3, mostly detailed orienteering map, on Saturday and Sunday the south and east of the map are marked in a generalized manner. The map is printed on moisture-resistant but tearable paper, A3 plastic bags will be available at the start if additional map protection is needed. Each team will have one additional map for planning.
Control points have values from 1 to 9 points, in mini-rogaining all KPs are worth 1 point. The point values are the first digit of the KP number, the remaining digits are the KP number, which is in the forest on the SI station. For example: KP No. 2103 is worth 2 points, in the forest on the station is no. 103; KP No. 567 is worth 5 points, in the forest on the station is no. 67. There will be up to 130 control points in the forest that are used in other distances, only a part of the points are shown on the rogaining map, Friday 50KP, Saturday 50KP, Sunday 40KP. 1900 Kapa 3-day runners will also run in the competition area, please do not crowd in the immediate vicinity of the control point so as not to disturb other runners.
There are several water points along the course on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, there is 1 water point along the course, as well as a water point in the finish area, water points are marked on the map with a purple cup. However, make sure to bring water reserves with you.
°The map shows the large prohibited areas marked with a purple hash. In addition, there are several small prohibited areas on the map. These are the starting areas for foot orienteering competitions, which must be bypassed so as not to disrupt the competition.
